Sample Toasts & Speeches

Here are three sample speeches (all from the same wedding) that do a nice job of showcasing what a great speech could sound like at your wedding. Of course, the bride & groom also have these on CD as a nice keepsake for their wedding memories box.

Candice (Maid of Honor)
When the wedding party first arrived, I went to find the toast-givers like I usually do. Candice confided in me that she was really nervous about giving her speech. As it turned out, she was well prepared, she knew her audience, and she was pretty funny, but not at the bride and groom’s expense.

Michael (Best Man)
Here’s a good example of one where the best man decided to “wing it.” It was short and to the point, it had a little humor, and it was simply Michael being himself.

Tom (Father of the Bride)
I personally think it’s really nice when one of the parents gives a welcome speech (or in this case, a welcome toast). In this example, Tom was very well prepared, had some heartfelt things to say as well as a few great jokes.

Bridesmaids-style Toast by Maid & Matron of Honor

Take a listen to this well-rehearsed (and very funny) toast, perfectly executed by Meredith & Brittany. Although the movie has been out for quite some time, this was the first time I had seen someone re-enact the awkward toast scene.
